We provide Leadership and Performance Improvement Consulting to a broad spectrum of organizations.
We were
born out of an opportunity to provide training to executives and pioneer project teams in the State of California's quest
for Quality Government.
In June 1993, Governor Wilson signed an Executive Order on Quality Government to "help
introduce quality management principles throughout state government". California began with an innovative approach to
Quality Improvement -- initiating our country's first state-level Request For Volunteers to train Pioneer Project Teams
and the respective leaders from those departments who would have the teams. Jerrold Strong was one of about a half dozen members
of a US Air Force training team that ended up providing almost 75% of the training to the executives and pioneer
project teams.
In 1994, Strong Consulting became one of the initial certified consulting firms
for the State of California.
We are CCR Registered for Federal Contracts, and a certified Small Business and Disabled
Veterans Business Enterprise (DVBE) by the State of California.

Provided Consultation
to the Commander and Senior Executives of a 12,000 member organization with an annual budget of $451 Million and capital assets
of $11.1 Billion. Advised and facilitated executive strategic and business planning at all levels of the organization, guiding
in the development of mission, vision and values, organizational performance measures, and assessment of organizational performance
using the MBNQA Criteria. Advised on Organizational and Human Resource planning, management and development issues. Provided
training, exceeding 3700 classroom hours, to thousands of members including senior executives, functional managers and workers,
in all aspects of Performance Excellence. Classes included lessons on Leadership, Personal Effectiveness, Performance Excellence
Planning and Implementation, Understanding the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) Criteria and conducting self-assessments,
Process Improvement Tools, Business Process Reengineering, Labor-Management partnerships, Instructor skills, and Facilitation
with consistent participant ratings of outstanding. Used Organization Development interventions such as Team Building
to improve work unit cohesion and effectiveness. Trained and facilitated many improvement teams including a high emphasis
joint Army and Air Force team improving processes for the rapid movement of people and material for war. Also, planned
and managed an instructor cadre of approximately 150 that exceeded organizational training goals in specific areas.
